If you're still having trouble, check out. You can also search near a city, place, or address instead. I've been here once before but never reviewed.
I came here last night and experience was good. I also stopped in for happy hour and also because they had a half off deal on Wednesdays for ribs and wings. Interesting to find a place that gives you wings and you add the sauce you want.
FYI Dino's wing sauce is good.not sure what it consists of but I would say the best tasting one. They also had a deal on their featured wine so had a bottle of that too. Our server was good and took good care of me.
He did offer his advice and made suggestions which is always appreciated. I also didn't expect to have any live music but it seemed there was a fund raiser.
Needless to say it was a good surprise. In the end, my tab was reasonably priced for what i ordered: 10 pc wings ($6), 4 sliders ($10), chocolate martini ($8) and a bottle of wine ($20). Dino's is spot on for lunch, and I find myself eating here more and more lately. The best way to describe the place is it's straight forward with just a skosh of eccentricity. There are little things peppered here and there that make it an original place, such as one of a kind menu offerings or cans of Hamm's beer (Seriously, when have you ever seen Hamm's in a bar or restaurant?) They also offer other 'Old School Beers' for a rock bottom price. It can get super busy and crowded around game-time though. The noise level never seems to dip below 'Rowdy'.
They do a great brunch as well, with the DIY bloody mary bars which are popping at every brunch you go to now. It's really hard to find any faults with Dino's, so I'll cut this short and leave saying that it's Di-No-Mite! Extremely high prices for mediocre food and service. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else that actually wants you to be satisfied with what you're paying for!
I ordered the fish and chips. Fish was good but the fries were so over cooked and greasy I couldn't eat them! My friend ordered shrimp scampi and what arrived was a cold blob of a few shrimp on a huge bed of egg noodles covered in a tomato based cream sauce. That's NOT shrimp scampi by any stretch of the imagination. My other friend got some kind of pasta dish that was cold and and she was in the bathroom all night after she ate it.
The waitress was nice enough, but hovered a bit. For the prices they're charging, we should've had at least a four star meal! Sadly we did not.
With all the other great places in the area, I will not be back! We stopped in for brunch today and just like I told our server, it was only okay. Nothing was wrong, but nothing was all that good. And for the price, I'd rather visit Fly Trap or Toast just down the street. My blueberry pancakes were very dry and the blueberries were sparse.
The biscuits that came with the biscuits and gravy were dry and there wasn't enough gravy to make up for the dryness. My friend said her breakfast quesadilla was okay but it came out cold. To top it off our service wasn't that great. My friend never received a refill on her pop. I drank my first cup of coffee before we received our meal, and never received a refill until after we finished eating. I really could have used some to wash down those dry pancakes and biscuits.
I came here for brunch on a Saturday with a group of 8 people. At first, we were told the wait was quite long, and then we were sat moments later. We didn't receive menus or a greeting for over 15 minutes, our drink orders were not taken for 20 minutes, and they weren't actually received for about 30 minutes after we had been seated. Our server, Amy, gave us the worst service I have ever experienced, without so much as an apologetic attitude, and I waited tables for 9 years at a variety of types of restaurants. After delivering our drinks so late without so much as an apology, she completely skips over my father in taking our food orders and leaves the table, at which point I had to pursue her across the restaurant to come back. After that, we barely saw Amy again.
Every drink on our table was empty, but any time Amy walked by she didn't even do a table check. I personally saw a table of two men without drinks waiting over 15 minutes to pay their checks with zero attention from her, and a couple of women wait for over 10 minutes for menus.
Both tables were just staring at the bar hoping to see Amy appear. It appeared as though we were her only 3 tables, or at least she only talked to 3 while we were there, so I'm not sure what the issue was. At one point, I had to go to the bar to try to get some water, having not have a beverage in over 40 minutes (a refill was apparently not on Amy's agenda), I found her giggling with a coworker at the POS station positioned in the worst possible place in this restaurant where you can't even see the FOH.
It was obvious that Amy spent her whole brunch in the back socializing instead of doing her job. Seriously awful service, the food was nothing to write home about, and there was no manager on duty to actually remedy it. If I were Amy's manager, she wouldn't have made it past her first Monday lunch shift. Atrocious service, atrocious experience. Note to the GM: You've lost our business already, you should probably lose Amy before you lose more. This happened over a week ago, and I'm still pissed. Dino's you're weird.
I mean I like weird but, you're weird. Props to the serving staff here who have hooked up speedy service a few times to help us get where we needed to be in a relatively short period of time. Not props to the lobster in my mac and cheese that had the consistency of beef jerky. Good thing we ordered some of your phenomenal hummus to help me wash that chewy morsel down - I let the rest remain out of my stomach. I love karaoke night here, people get into it, and you almost feel like you are at a silly family reunion where you may just make out with your cousin.
I'm sorry that was their strong drinks talking, strong yet slightly higher priced than other restaurants in the area drinks. Really though the karaoke here is awesome, but it does seem like everyone can sing decently which prevents folks like me (a croaking frog) from eagerly making a fool of myself. I need to get drunk to do karaoke normally so I would have to be carried on and off the stage to perform in this joint. Atmosphere is 'meh' to me excluding the crowd. Last time we stopped in we wished a fellow patron who was celebrating his birthday a good one and he returned the favor with wishing us a blessed and safe night along with a beaming smile. It is that kind of place, a great mix of peeps.Just don't order their lobster jerky. What a great experience, this evening (or late afternoon).
Totally went to this place bases on yelp reviews and the outside appearance, which I must say don't let it fool you. Great service, but it wasn't busy. As it got busier, we noted that we saw our waitress less frequently. She was the only one working the main floor.
By the time we left there were about six tables in use. It took awhile to get the bill. The atmosphere is bar, but the food isn't typical bar food. The music was good and there was just the right vibe going on. As were were wrapping things up they were setting up for the Lions game.
They have an extensive menu. It was very difficult choosing something. I am surprised that my husband and choose seafood items (we have a rule that we don't eat seafood from non-seafood establishments). We were NOT disappointed. I ordered their off of their monthly theme menu (New Orleans/Blues/Soul.) I ordered the Surf and Surf (bbq shrimp and fried catfish fillet). The meal arrived within a reasonable amount of time and was piping hot.
There were 3 nice plump delectable shrimp on a skewers, lightly slathered in bbq sauce. I could have had a few more of those. Then there was a nice fillet of catfish. Now, it was good, but it's not the best catfish that I've had.
I'm use to southern fried catfish, this was more like a lightly breaded catfish fillet.not fried. It was a little soggy, but still delish. I sprinkled it with a bit of hot sauce and it was good to go. The oh-la-la of the dish, the side of red beans and rice!
They nailed the flavor, texture. So, so so good! There was a tiny lil muffin also included in the meal, but after all the other goodies, it's more like an after thought, than part of the meal. It was dry and crumbly, but had an interesting taste (cinnamon, allspice.) $15 My husband had the fish and chips. The fries are typical fries, but the slaw was a hit and the fish was probably the best fried fish fillets that we've had in awhile. Nice pieces of cod, in a crunchy, crispy batter. Not too heavy and not too greasy.
The slaw is definitely their recipe; spicy and the right tang. They also make their own tartar sauce; creamy! $11 We also ordered a side of sweet potato fries. Now, people raved about these but I found them to be so-so. I've had great SPF and these were skinny, limp fries.yeah they were sweet, but didn't stand out. $5 My son, who is fussy fussy ordered the angus burger and claimed it to be the best that he's had outside of Red Coat Tavern.
It was seasoned perfectly. $10 The prices are fair, but a bit up there. I think location may have something to do with that. The food was good, but I wouldn't say it's $15-$17 per plate good (I think the avg.
Price of a dish there was $13. Happy Eating! Dino's is definitely a great spot to stop for lunch or happy hour on a nice day. Happy hour specials are pretty good ($5 calamari and other apps, 1/2 off certain bottles of wine). Food is solid. Try the cheese and roasted garlic starter (yum!) I like that Dino's changes up their entire menu monthly, featuring a new FUN theme.
It's Greek Month now, and I know I need to make it in. As far as ambiance, they have a great little front patio and back patio, depending on your mood and the weather.
Inside is better-than-sports-bar but a little dark. (I LIKE LIGHT, even at the bar!) It's a very casual, chill bar. Come in with jeans and a top and you won't feel under or overdressed. Very relaxed and unpretentious. The service is generally average to above average, which works for me! (Hey, I'm not at a 5 star place ordering filet.I'm snacking and getting drinks)! The only thing I have an issue with is the BEER SELECTION.
I am a craft beer fan, and Dino's could certainly use help with their list. Luckily, Emory is right across the street for when I'm jonesing for a good IPA selection. Rock on Dino's! Went for a birthday dinner and aside from our waitress being extremely slow and delivering our food in shifts. I didn't find much wrong with the place. There was a live band and May was coined Mexican Month by the restaurant and had a separate menu for the theme.
I ordered the chimichangas and a margarita. I told the waitress I wanted it frozen, but it came on the rocks. She was hard to grab hold of because of the volume in the room. I enjoyed my food. I just wish the music weren't so loud (couldn't hear anyone at the table.
Including the person sitting next to me who was screaming in my ear!). And I wish the staff were prepared for large groups.
Being from the area, this is another one of my go-to breakfast/brunch places. I've never been here in the evening, but I know they also have kareoke and other fun events.which is great when a restaurant can do it all. Since breakfast is my favorite, its obviously appealing that breakfast is served from 8am to 3pm daily.
If you're a day drinker, you'll love the bottomless mimosa and bloody bar on Saturday and Sundays as well. I went this past Saturday with a couple cowokers and we sat outside and drank until 3:30 (our awesome waitress served us for an additional half hour). I've never had poor service here and all the waitresses are nice and attentive. The menu is pretty reasonably priced with some very yummy options.
I usually opt for a Frittata which are delicious and fluffy and served with breakfast potatoes (toast is ordered seperately at an additioal charge of $1.50). My roommate is a big fan of the corned beef hash and I've also tried their pancakes the British Royality, both of which are very tasty. It's a pretty decent size with a very small patio area outside and a full bar.
Definitely a good choice no matter what time of the day it is!
